Calthorpe Park School's Sri Lanka Team 2026 have been incredibly busy fundraising since May 2025 in preparation for their trip to Sri Lanka in October 2026.
Originally setting themselves a target of £5,000, the group have absolutely smashed it. Just a few weeks ago they had already raised an amazing £8,000-and they're not stopping there! Determined to break their own records, they are now aiming to exceed the all-time team fundraising total of £18,000.
From regular bake sales and sponsored events to climbing mountains, abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower, and selling items online, these students are showing real creativity, commitment, and teamwork in their fundraising efforts.
The trustees would like to extend a huge thank you to Team 2026 and the dedicated staff from Calthorpe Park School for their monumental efforts.
Every pound raised supports their partner schools in Sri Lanka, helping to transform the educational experiences of thousands of children. This truly is an inspiring and life-changing partnership.
Well done everyone-we are so proud of you all! ????

As well as their incredible fundraising efforts, Calthorpe Park School students spend the entire year preparing activities to share with pupils in their partner schools in Sri Lanka.
Each group of UK students works with up to 30 Sri Lankan students, delivering fun, engaging lessons using activities they have carefully planned back home. From mask-making and bracelet design to crocheting and sports activities-the creativity is endless!
For the Sri Lankan students, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with young people from the UK, learn together, and have fun. These shared experiences help build meaningful global friendships that last far beyond the visit.
Students from both countries come away enriched-full of joy and inspired to do more to promote global understanding, friendship, and peace.
Part of the funds raised by the students goes towards purchasing the resources needed for these sessions, enabling over 1,000 Sri Lankan students to take part during our annual October visit.
A truly powerful and inspiring exchange-well done to everyone involved! ????✨
